One of the benefits of the Cobb County Advisory is the regular attendance by planning directors and staff from Cobb County, Kennesaw, Marietta, and Powder Springs in order to facilitate open discussions regarding proposed ordinance packages, tree ordinance updates, and other topics that are of interest to Council members. These meetings allow for open dialogue with members and staff to voice concerns or offer suggested changes to county or city ordinances and an opportunity to develop close working relationships. The Council has been asked to provide input on a draft amendment package for Cobb County and worked with the City of Marietta on its current tree ordinance and parking ordinance, utilizing member’s expertise and our own resources to promote quality growth.
