Council for Quality Growth has named Taylor Morison as its new Director of Policy & Government Affairs. Taylor has been our Senior Policy Analyst since he joined the Council in June 2017 and has played an instrumental role in the Council’s policy agenda with local governments and at the state level.
With the region’s projected population increase by another 2.8 million by 2040, Taylor’s promotion comes at a crucial juncture for the Atlanta region, as we continue to advocate on behalf of our members on key infrastructure and planning issues facing the region.
“Taylor’s work in bringing stakeholders together to collaborate on critical infrastructure, land use, and other areas has been indispensable to the Council in the Metro Atlanta area,” said Council for Quality Growth President and CEO Michael Paris. “In addition, his work under the Gold Dome for transportation, water and economic development will have positive and lasting outcomes. These contributions to the Council’s success, and consequently our region’s and state’s success have ideally positioned him to lead our policy and government affairs team.”
Prior to joining the Council, Taylor worked in private law practice and spent three years at Georgia’s State Capitol where he served as Governor Deal’s lead budgetary policy analyst to the Departments of Economic Development, Community Affairs, and Labor, and the Office of Workforce Development.
Taylor received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University and his law degree from the University of Tennessee. Taylor resides with his wife, Doree, in historic Capitol View Manor, Atlanta. They are expecting their first child in late-April 2019.
