On Tuesday, July 25, 2023 9:00 AM at the Cobb Galleria Centre by the I-285 Transit & Pedestrian Bridge, the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID) is launching and going to reveal the Hopper, an autonomous vehicle (AV) shuttle pilot program as part of the Cumberland Sweep project. Parking for the event will be available in the Green Parking Deck.
Cumberland CID, Beep, Inc., and transportation leaders, GDOT Commissioner Russell McMurry, and Jannine Miller, Executive Director, ATL and SRTA will lead the program about this innovative mobility solution. As an attendee, you’ll learn more about the Pilot Program and be among the first to experience this cutting-edge autonomous technology and new mobility option in Cumberland.

Partnering with Beep Inc., a leader in AV technology, the Cumberland CID seeks to explore emerging transportation technologies to align with the mission of connecting people to places with a high-quality, safe, reliable, clean, and efficient AV shuttle to help meet the demands of Cumberland’s growth. The Cumberland CID, with the Hopper, seeks to learn how shared, electric, and autonomous mobility solutions can help solve for first-last mile connectivity. The Hopper will be an opportunity for the Cumberland CID to become a leader in AV technology as it prepares to implement an autonomous shuttle system in 2026 on the Cumberland Sweep. The pilot program will operate from July 2023 – March 2024.
