Chairman Jeffrey E. Turner to Deliver Final State of Clayton County Address on May 16
Over 400 Expected to Join Chairman Turner’s Sold-Out Address at the Morrow Center

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA – The Council for Quality Growth, in partnership with Clayton County Government, Clayton Chamber of Commerce, and the ATL Airport Chamber will host the 2024 State of Clayton County Address on May 16, 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Morrow Center. The sold-out lunch program, presented by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and The Development Authority of Clayton County, will feature the final address from the Chairman of Clayton County’s Board of Commissioners, Jeffrey E. Turner. Over 400 Council and Chamber members, elected officials, businesses, residents, county staff, and partners of Clayton County are expected to attend to hear the Chairman’s address.

Chairman Jeffrey E. Turner is running for Clayton County Sheriff in the upcoming election after serving 12 years as the Chairman of Clayton County Board of Commissioners. Prior to taking on this role, he served 20 years on Clayton County’s police force and became the first African-American Chief of the Clayton County Police Department.

The Council’s State of Clayton County annually convenes the county’s business community with its local government bodies, as well as with other local leaders from across the region. Chairman Turner will conclude his term by addressing his community to present achievements and projects, as well as an giving an outlook for what’s ahead in 2024.

The Council for Quality Growth works with Clayton County and its local municipalities year-round to advocate for our members doing business in those areas. “The Council is grateful for our ongoing partnership with the leadership in Clayton County to support quality growth and development,” said Michael Paris, President & CEO of the Council for Quality Growth. “We look forward to celebrating Chairman Turner’s tenure and hearing what’s to come for one of our region’s fastest growing counties.”

The State of Clayton will also feature remarks from Michael E. Paris, President & CEO of the Council, and Sarah Skinner, Manager of the ARC’s Metro North Georgia Water Planning District. Presenting sponsor remarks will be delivered by Jan Lennon, Deputy General Manager of Operations, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Dr. C. Harrison Braddy, Chairman, The Development Authority of Clayton County.
