The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted 3-1 to approve a vacant property registry on Tuesday, March 15th. Commissioner Heard was the dissenting vote. Several local governments in Georgia and across the country cannot locate owners of vacant and foreclosed property and have implemented a registry in order to keep up with who owns the property. The Council along with the Atlanta Board of Realtors and others have been working on a state wide model (House Bill 110) for cities and counties that choose to adopt a property registry. House Bill 110 passed out of the Georgia House of Representatives and currently awaits consideration by the Senate.
