On November 25th, US Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters joined Governor Sonny Perdue and GDOT Commissioner Gena Evans in announcing a $110 million grant to address congestion issues in Gwinnett County and metro Atlanta. The grant would fund the conversion of existing HOV lanes into HOT lanes, with variable pricing. The first phase would convert the HOV lanes from Old Peachtree Road to I-285.
