The Council’s work on behalf of its members has a direct and profitable impact on their bottom line.
The Council for Quality Growth brings together and advocates for those who work at the intersection of public policy and private investment, including developers, contractors, engineers, architects, planners, law firms, and banks. We are often engaged by the public sector to advise on regulation that protects communities while continuing to encourage economic development.
The Council operates within a 11-county area of metro Atlanta, working with 87 local governments, serving more than 5 million residents.
The Council also extends its reach to the broader 20-county metro region, comprised of 142 local governments representing nearly 6 million residents.
The Council remains a member-focused organization that is only as strong as those we have seated at the table. Any industry stakeholder that wants to be part of shaping how these important matters are addressed will benefit from membership in the Council. We need your perspective, your expertise, your opinions, and your circles of influence.
The Council delivers our mission through the platforms of Advocacy, Information, and Education.
Advocacy
We work with hundreds of elected officials – city councils, county and regional commissions, administrators, and staff across local governments, state agencies, and legislative and executive leadership. We collaborate and actively advocate to ensure that planning, zoning, and other regulatory policies promote thriving communities, strong infrastructure, and a prospering economy. Explore our advocacy achievements and monitor legislation changes through our legislative bill tracker.
Information
Research conducted by the Council’s policy team and our Quality Growth Institute allows members to stay abreast of all issues affecting growth and development of the metro Atlanta region. Task forces focus on pressing issues, while the Council holds nine regular Advisory Roundtables monthly to ensure we are intimately engaged around the region.
Education
Council programs and events, as well as educational opportunities through the Quality Growth Institute and the Emerging Leaders Initiative, address important issues related to the development community and the region. In addition, the Council partners with a number of metro counties, chambers, MARTA and the Atlanta BeltLine to host the State of the County and Agency series, further strengthening the link to local government officials and public partners.
