On July 17th, the BOC and Planning Commission held a second joint meeting to complete its discussions on the proposed UDC changes being considered by the County. The first public hearing was held on May 22nd, by the Forsyth County Planning Commission. The proposed UDC changes include eliminating/limiting certain Planning Commission and ZBA powers of approval and issuances of variances (Ch.4 & 18), and changes to residential development requirements. Of particular interest is Chapter 11(minimum lot sizes). The Planning Commission voted to leave the public hearing open to allow opportunity for a joint work session between the BOC and Planning Commission which took place on June 19th. The items are expected to be revised in August and a new public hearing will be held soon afterwards. Please check back regularly for updates.
