A certified re-count Tuesday night cemented Tommy Hunter as the newest member of the Gwinnett County Commission, after defeating District 3 Incumbent Mike Beaudreau in his bid for a third term by a mere 57 votes. Hunter has previously served as DOT Coordinator for the Department of Public Utilities and as a member of the Gwinnett County Water and Sewerage Authority, serving as Secretary of the Authority in 2008.
In the race to fill the unexpired term of former Commissioner Shirley Lasseter, former City ofSuwanee City Councilman and Mayor Pro-TemJaceBrookswon the Republican Primary Election and faces no opposition in the November election.
