At the May 5th meeting of the Council for Quality Growth’s DeKalb Advisory Meeting, Council Members hosted Tucker Mayor Frank Auman and heard from the Mayor about the direction and vision for the newest City in DeKalb. The City of Tucker consists of roughly 30,000 people and the new city government will provide planning, land use and zoning; parks and recreation and code enforcement. DeKalb County will oversee police, fire and other services, which they Mayor stressed are well served by DeKalb County. Tucker’s biggest assets, according to the Mayor are its diverse tax base, residential neighborhoods and with the new retail development occurring, is truly a place to live, work and play.
The Council would like to thank the Mayor and Tucker City Councilman Bill Rosenfeld for sharing the vision of Tucker and also to our breakfast sponsor, Wendy Butler & Associates. We look forward to seeing Council for Quality Growth Members at next month’s DeKalb Advisory Breakfast.
