After months of public hearings and debate, the DeKalb Commissioners approved infill housing regulations. The zoning ordinance amendment allows individual neighborhoods affected by infill housing to create their own guidelines through an overlay district. The BOC is now proposing an amendment to the regulations that puts into place a moratorium on demolition permits as soon as a neighborhood begins the overlay district process. At its April 27th meeting, the Board deferred the amendment for a full cycle (two months).
