Cobb County launches Microtransit Pilot Program Powered By Via

Cobb County officials launched a new microtransit program, called CobbLinc Go, at the Silver Comet Linear Park on Thursday, October 31st. This new service, run by Via, is a “microtransit” program, which means you can get a ride on demand, right from your phone, similar to Uber or Lyft.

The curb-to-curb service provides on-demand shared rides to select locations, including downtown Austell and Powder Springs, through a fleet of vans. See the map below for more specific details on the operation zones.

The two-year program will replace CobbLinc’s current FLEX service and increase the transit service area. CobbLinc will operate Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at a fixed cost of $2.50 a ride. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles can be requested through the app.

CobbLinc Go will work with the current CobbLinc bus routes to create a more complete transportation system. The goal is to make transportation in the area more accessible, efficient, and eco-friendly.
