Following a unanimous vote by the Cumberland CID Board of Directors, Tad Leithead has been named the Cumberland CID Executive Director. Tad has been the interim executive director since March, and served on the Cumberland CID Board of Directors for 29 years – including serving as their chairman for many years.
With more than 30 years of experience in the Atlanta commercial and real estate market and has leased some five million square feet of office and retail space, Tad was also a key participant in the development of the Cobb Galleria Centre. He also served as chairman of the Cobb Chamber, in addition to serving on the Council for Quality Growth Board of Directors for many years. He was instrumental in the formation of several CIDs in Georgia and most recently served on the boards of the Fulton County Perimeter Community Improvement District and the North Fulton Community Improvement District. He is also a past chairman of the Walker School.
Furthering his service to the community, from 2009 to 2012, Tad served two terms as chairman of the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC). He also served on the ARC board from 2000 to 2012, and was chair of its Transportation & Air Quality Committee from 2007-2009.
Tad has been a leader in advancing economic development, enhancing the business climate, and especially focusing on transportation, infrastructure, mobility and connectivity improvements.
