At the Gwinnett Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday, May 24th, the now Director of ARC’s Ceneter for Liveable Communities, Mike Alexander gave a dynamic overview of the demographic and economic outlook for Gwinnett County and the entire metro Atlanta region.
Mike Alexander led a data-driven discussion on Metro Atlanta’s strengths like overall job growth, specifically the tech industry in Gwinnett County, as well as weaknesses like traffic congestion, lack of transit options and wage growth. He discussed the ARC’s population projections which show Gwinnett County remaining one of the fastest growing, and most diverse counties in the region. He also shared data on metro area development, showing that in the last five years Gwinnett County has had more building permits than any other county in the region outside of City of Atlanta.
