Last week, the Council for Quality Growth and the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District hosted a first-of-its-kind Stormwater Workshop. A room packed with developers, engineers, planners, public officials, and water industry experts convened for the workshopping of ideas around metro Atlanta’s stormwater management and flooding challenges.
We heard from a series of speakers on all things stormwater. Thanks to Michael Alexander, Dr. Marshall Shepherd, Nolan Gray, and Juli Beth Hinds for sharing your knowledge and expertise as we plan for a future metro region that can sustain the coming growth.
This Stormwater Workshop was the next step in CQG & MNGWPD’s joint effort to take collaborative action to improve the region’s stormwater management practices and policies because “Stormwater Won’t Work Until We Do!”
Special thanks to Katherine Zitsch & Katherine Atteberry at the MNGWPD for all of your help leading this effort, and to the entire CQG/MNGWPD Joint Stormwater Committee for their dedication to this initiative. Thanks to our great partners at the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for hosting our workshop and facilitating this conversation.
And thank you to all who participated in this important day. We can’t wait to see what this group can accomplish next!
