Governor Nathan Deal signed Senate Bill 122 on May 2nd. SB 122 allows public authorities and private enterprise to partner in the development of water supply and infrastructure projects. A press release from the Governor’s Office stated, “Providing for a stable and dependable water supply for Georgia has ranked near the top of my agenda because it’s critical to the health of our residents and to our economic development.” Council leadership and staff supported the passage of SB 122 this Session since it will strengthen Georgia’s water infrastructure and water supply.
