The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management has released a new ordinance that would require retrofit of all plumbing fixtures with high efficiency models after any property is sold. The ordinance would require the change of toilets, sinks, and irrigation systems before water service could be reconnected. The law department is continuing to review the ordinance and has asked for input from the real estate community. The City has around one million dollars allocated for a rebate program, but has not seen significant use of that program.
