In its 3rd year, The INTERSECTION is a place where public policy and private investment meet to discuss metro Atlanta’s critical issues, hear best practices, and stay educated on topics as they relate to metro Atlanta’s ability to grow and prosper. The INTERSECTION is a product of the Quality Growth Institute, the Council for Quality Growth’s education arm and an established 501(c)(3) organization.
In our region, partnerships turn the wheel of economic development. Specifically, collaborative partnerships between public entities and private investors. We’ll discuss innovative approaches to these partnerships and why collaboration is a key part of metro Atlanta’s promising economic future.
By rethinking housing, we’re rethinking our inventory mix of housing, funding mechanisms to build it, and creative places to put it, all while making sure the housing product is within economic reach of its community. We’ll explore the struggles with creating housing that is affordable and what solutions can keep our region a top competitor for new investment.
Atlanta has become economically dependent on our office space for tax revenue. Real estate values have declined at a higher rate than our counterpart metropolitan areas, leading to expected decreases in tax revenue. Our problem might be bigger, but so is our opportunity. How can we collaborate to address these issues, prepare for the changing economic state we’re facing, and provide solutions that keep Atlanta ranked high for investment? Jonathan Tower will share his toolkit for ensuring our region’s fiscal health at #TheINTERSECTION on August 10.
Part I will showcase 3 case studies of public-private collaborations, including The Gulch Redevelopment, I-3 Partners new funding model for municipal projects, and Peachtree Corners’ Curiosity Lab on Technology Parkway. These case studies will be presented by both the public and private entities involved in them. Meet our P3 case study speakers below.
