On December 17, 2024, the Council hosted its 39th Annual Meeting & Legislative Reception with the Georgia General Assembly, presented by Amazon and Ohio River South. Members of the Council were joined by legislators from around the region for a cocktail reception at the Cherokee Town and Country Club. In addition to ratifying and welcoming its 2025 Board of Directors, the Council presented its legislative priorities for the year to the Georgia General Assembly and local elected officials. The night kicked off with remarks from Courtney English, Chief Policy Officer to Mayor Dickens. Chuck Meadows, Chief Strategy Officer at Ohio River South, delivered presenting sponsorship remarks, and Secretary of State Brad Raffesberger, State Senator Brandon Beach, and State Representative Spencer Frye spoke on behalf of their legislative bodies.
Outgoing Council Chair, Sally Riker, Vice President of Strategy & Growth at Atlas, passed the gavel to 2025 Chairman, Clyde Higgs, President & CEO of the Atlanta Beltline. The Council also presented our 2025 Legislative Priorities and unveiled a special 40th anniversary logo for the coming year.
